Welcome and Overview |

United States demand is growing, while domestic production and pipeline
imports are decreasing. LNG remains an important ingredient in
bringing natural gas from where it is abundant to where it is needed.
However, it will be delivered within the context of the global market
dynamics of fast-growing countries competing with the U.S. for the same
supply. |

Prices are Up, the Dollar is Down and the Credit Markets are Volatile |
|
Not a day goes by without a major story in the national press about the high
cost of oil, the low value of the U.S. Dollar, and the uncertainty of the
credit markets. All of these issues, plus the general state of the
economy, continue to put pressure on the natural gas industry. Hear
what these macro-indicators portend for the short and long term future of
natural gas. |

Supplying Gas to the Mid-Continent |
|
Not too many years ago, the Mid-Continent was the destination of choice for
natural gas. Today, the region needs to compete for domestic supplies
with the higher priced markets of the Northeast and the Southeast. In
addition, the oil sands are keeping a lot of the WCSB gas in Canada, and
worldwide, the demand for gas is expected to divert LNG to Europe and
Southeast Asia. Hear how a combination of conventional gas
basins and alternative sources of energy will supply the Mid-Continent. |

The Future of Gas in a Carbon Constrained World |
|
It is abundantly clear that during the next administration in Washington,
there will be some type of legislation to reduce the environmental impact of
carbon and other greenhouse gasses. Whether the United States adopts a
cap system based on the European model, a tax system or some hybrid, every
company needs to figure out how to prepare for this new carbon constrained
reality. |

Managing Risks That Can Be Managed |
|
Current events have shown that there are some risks that cannot be totally
controlled. But, most, if not all, risks can be managed so companies
that anticipate key exposures can mitigate the impact on their
organizations. In today’s marketplace, there is a menu of physical and
financial tools available to any company that wants to institute a
comprehensive risk management program. |

Pipeline Projects: To and Through the Mid-Continent |
|
There is a tremendous amount of competition to build new pipelines to carry
gas to the region. Some of the gas will fuel the growth in the area,
but much of it will continue eastward to the higher priced Northeast
marketplace. This session will highlight a number of the key pipeline
projects, and provide both status updates and future plans. |

Will Storage Maintain its Momentum and Value? |
|
High gas prices, power generation, and the surge nature of LNG arrivals are
each independent but equally compelling reasons as to why storage is more
important now than ever before. The value of storage has increased
dramatically over the last few years and developers have realized that
pipeline access is essential and that the ability to have multiple turns
makes storage more than just a seasonal asset. |

Gas Buyers Forum |
|
With prices this high in the summer, how high will the peak be if there is
an early cold snap in November or December? This group of gas buyers
represents a significant portion of the gas volumes used in the
Mid-Continent. For them, this is not a theoretical issue, but a real
world problem. If you are a gas buyer, come hear how your peers are
planning for the winter. If you sell gas, this panel of gas buyers will
discuss the issues that you need to understand if you want to become a
supplier of choice in the region. |
